Another law enforcement agency has fired several of its officers because of publicly stated racial animus targeting Blacks. Wilmington, North Carolina continues to adopt a perpetual prerogative which imposes generational racial disparities embedded into legacy social systems and authoritative branches.
More on the city’s racist borne, bloody history later.

Michael ‘Kevin’ Piner, James ‘Brian’ Gilmore, and Jessie E. Moore II were all terminated from the force. The announcement came from the new Chief of Police Donny Williams — not even 24-hours into his first day as chief.

In North Carolina, public records laws typically prevent government agencies from handing out information on personnel; however, in extraordinary circumstances, details can be released to the public.

The former officers actively tried to prevent a release of the information, and an attorney filed an apparently unsuccessful motion for a temporary restraining order, but ultimately the city decided it was the right thing to do.

“Why are we releasing this information this way and at this time? Because it is the right thing to do. Normally, personnel laws allow only a very small amount of information to be made public. However, in exceptional cases, when it is essential to maintain public confidence in the administration of the City and the Police Department, more information may be released.  This is the most exceptional and difficult case I have encountered in my career. We must establish new reforms for policing here at home and throughout this country,” Williams said.

White Declaration of
Independence

This type of attitude is not new to Wilmington, NC. This city has a long history of racial violence, perpetrated by white people. Wilmington was once a thriving oasis of Black prosperity and governance, but whites declared in the “White Declaration of Independence” they were taking their city , because American wealth is for whites only.

The recently firing of police officers in Wilmington departs from the long held race based values of this North Carolina city. To this very day, the white establishment of Wilmington continues to avoid a total acknowledgment of Wilmington’s highly bigoted past and present.

The fact of matter is this same story of aggression. Whites rely on a historical trend showing Blacks will not defend their rights and property to the death. Whites continually exhibit a willingness to assert themselves on others till death for what they believe. InnerKwest®
