The headline reads: Are Trump’s Critics Demonically Possessed?
Two of the president’s prominent evangelical supporters are literally demonizing his opponents.
They go further to say, Graham, Metaxas, a Salem Radio Network talk-show host, asked the son of the late evangelist Billy Graham, “What do you think of what is happening now? I mean, it’s a very bizarre situation to be living in a country where some people seem to exist to undermine the president of the United States. It’s just a bizarre time for most Americans.”
I am embarrassed that my parents took me to some Billy Graham revivals. Simply embarrassed. Franklin Graham was raised to think and act the way we see him today. Franklin is a bigot and so was his daddy, but Billy knew how to cloak his hypocrisy enough to get Black peoples money.
The only black preachers I see vocally against their counterparts are the sheepish preachers that visit Trump skinning and grinning. There is something that has these black pastors in check. Some call it black obedience and others say many are afraid of white backlash. I have polled some highly educated African-Americans and they went back to the church as a civic duty rather than a quest for spiritual enlightenment.
Just as politicians political capital is its constituency, the black church must meet the interest of its congregation. The Black Church can no longer keep the congregation spell bound with charismatic oratory and heart throbbing rhythms. The church members are more educated, with an intellectual disposition gained from formal education.
Like it or not, realize or not, the African-American bloodline is being diluted further. Therefore, the Franklin Grahams of this country find little challenges when they vocally back bigots. Most influential black pastors turn a deaf ear to the rhetoric. The problem with such unchecked voices is the nationalist feel sanctioned by their god to carry out aggressive missions. Be it police, judges, or any other authoritative figure, these bigoted preachers claim God is on their side.
Many blacks wanted assimilation, but with assimilation comes the gravitation to believe what white people believe, even if its to the detriment of black people. The black millennials seemed shocked when their white counterparts reject them mainly because of what their parents instilled when they were young.
I am going diversify my writings to other subjects other than Trump, but it’s hard to do. This era in time is crucial and I do not possess a spirit of denial. I must call out anything that has the potential to annihilate black people.
